Ladysmith
Harbour Kayak Tour
(4 hours)
Our 4-hour Leisure Tour is the perfect way to spend a day on
Vancouver Island!
Ladysmith Harbour is one of the most picturesque and calm
harbours this side of Vancouver Island. With the warmest saltwater
north of North Francisco, the Beach is the town jewel attracting
families and visitors from around the world. On our 4-hr tour
you will receive basic entry kayak skill instruction to ensure
your safety and comfort. Our experienced kayak guides will
teach-as you-go (slow pace and in shallow water to start).
Once you are comfortable in the kayak and safety is assured,
the adventure begins!
We will travel together to Woods Island where many of our
harbour seals like to poke around and check out visitors. Paddling
along the sheltered shoreline to Bute and Dunsmuir Islands
we'll stay in the shallow waters and seek out resident starfish,
sun stars, oysters, crab, moon snails, limpets. Look up and
you'll most likely spy an eagle as well as numerous other seabirds.
We plan our tours over the noon hour so we can stop at Evening
Cove to enjoy a shore lunch and rest, sunbathe or perhaps go
for a swim. We'll return via the islands or paddle across the
Bay to visit the estuary before returning home.
